by EndofMysteries inhttp://www.cnn.com/2014/08/26/us/arizona-girl-fatal-shooting-accident/index.html?hpt=hp_t2.
"a 9-year-old girl learning to fire a submachine gun accidentally killed her instructor at a shooting range when the weapon recoiled over her shoulder, according to arizona authorities.
another reason to go against those arguing that young children should be taught how to use guns.

Why was such a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT thing as Internet not foretold in the Bible?
by Pinku injws claim that even such a small thing as proclaiming 1986 as the international year for peace was foretold in the bible.
this raises the question: why was such a great thing as internet (the influence of which could not even be compared with anything in the history at all) not foretold in the bible?
with internet and tv the world has become literally a global village!.

It was foretold in the bible
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4 King James Version)

If you still believe in God, what are your thoughts on the Bible?
by ilikecheese indo you believe it's inerrant?
do you believe it's based on things that happened, but a lot of it may just be stories and it's not perfect because men wrote it?
do you think it's just a good guide?

If I still believe in God, what are my thought on the bible?
51% of me believes that the bible is the word of God
49% of me believes it is not.
So I do my best to live my life according to the bible.
If I were not to live my life according to my understanding of the bible,
I do not see how it would improve.
So I guess I am selfish and self serving.
or just complacent.
I am not motivated enough to be a serious sinner.
How hard is it to follow the 10 commandments?

Come on! Tell it like it is. People are LYING when they tell you, "I've read the Bible."

Jam my answer to your question is the theme of the bible is predestination,
and you are not destined to believe.
I'm not saying that is good or bad.
But that is how I make sense out of it.
People are saved in a biblical way by faith.
If you don't have any faith and you don't know how to get any faith.
Then that is the way it is.
Also from my experience if you figure out how to get faith.
I don't think you can get rid of it.
They say once saved always saved.
So watch what you wish for.
You have to figure out what being saved is and whether you want it or not
and figure out how to get faith.
But if your predestined not to have faith, you have to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
But it could turn out that at some point you are predestined to have faith.

I read the bible cover to cover 7 times.
I wrote down the date on each page when I read it.
I read it cover to cover because I had left the witnesses which I was born in
and I did not want anyone else telling me what to believe.
Also during the first 6 times I read the bible I felt it very comforting.
By the 7th time I had so many notes and questions.
I do feel many people say they have read the bible but do not mean they have read the whole bible.
The first couple of time I read the bible, I went cover to cover
Genesis to Revelation.
The last few time I read the whole bible cover to cover but
I would read a few pages from the begining, the middle and the end every day.
That way I found I would find some inspiration every day.
For those who say they read the Bible (cover to cover) how many of you believe what you read?
Tell us how--after having done so--you can say it is "divine."
When I was reading the bible cover to cover times 1-5 that was all that I was reading
and it was easy to believe in and think it was divine.
When I started reading other peoples opinions and feelings it became easy to doubt the bible.
When I was reading the bible I never thought of the posiblity of there not being a God.
When I read the bible, I believed in miricles.
Today I would describe my mental state regarding the bible is I am 51% full of belief
and 49% full of doubt.
Which makes me double minded, not a good place to be according to the bible.
In my case reading the bible and studying it,
Leads to a measure of doubt.
One theme I found reading the bible over and over is predestination.
Some people are destined to believe and some are destined not to believe.
Not just belief but every thing about life is predestined.
That is what I got out of reading the bible.
Also I have never read through the NWT.
I have read the King James, the American standard
and the NIV bible.

Why did God/Jehovah/Jesus create Viruses and bacteria that can kill humans and animals?
by Jon Preston ini know this topic has been spoken about but i havent seen an official thead about it.

I know I will be rediculed here for posting this.
This is a tough audience.
I try to think of things from all different angles and perspectives and not label myself.
Having said that, putting on my theist hat.
God knows/knew the begining from the end.
Before he made us he knew that man would sin in Eden and that death would have a season.
That was part of his plan of free will.
God also knew about the flood before he even made the universe.
Animals serve dual purposes. Just because they have muscles and sharp teeth does not mean their original
or other purpose was to kill and eat each other. That purpose is part of the fall.
Look at a vampire bat it has sharp teeth and it is a vegetarian
Look at many dogs and cats they have sharp teeth but many of them do not kill.
Bacteria
We have bacteria in our stomachs to digest our food.
I do not know if there was bacteria before the fall in Eden.
I would think so because Adam and Eve ate and I would think the animals ate.
That was part of the original sin, eating.
And bacteria would help them to digest their food and to decompose their waste/elimination.
Bacteria and viruses became more prevalent after the fall.
They play a role in the curse of death and suffering, the wages of sin.
Whether viruses were around in Eden I don't know.
To reiterate God knew and knows everything before it happens.
And he gave us free will to choose whether we want to live in his presence
or apart from him.
God knew and knows the answer to that also.
But we don't.
So much of this is for us.
I think it is entertainment for all involved.
God made humans for his pleasure, Colosians 1:16

How many did you, personally, entrap in the Borg ?
by Phizzy inin my nearly 60 years in the religion, although i "studied" with a good number, i cannot think of any who could lay the blame at my door for being in the religion today.. one lad possibly might, i studied with him briefly as he was trying to get off drugs, he then moved away, and then married a "sister" a few years later, and is still in, but i doubt he would blame me, i hope not.. of the others i studied with none are still in, the last i heard of one of them, a weirdo kid, now weirdo man, was when he was arrested for "flashing" in a local spot frquented by doggers etc.
i guess i was a useless "tutor".
as it happens, that is one of the things i am proud to be a failure at, getting people to join a cult.. i always tried to not do proper r.v's, and never suggested a "study" to anyone, but some, like weirdo, were shoved my way by elders who didn't want the work themselves.. how many are you guilty of getting in to the cult ?.

I have liveed in Florida, the Clearwater area since 81.
I have met and seen Hulk many times.
He is always friendly and will talk.
When he and Randy Savage were fighting in the media.
they would be in the gym everyday talking to each other and out to dinner at the Hurricane.
I used to see Hulk so often that he would wave to me when he saw me.

The flood would have changed the topography of the earth.
Just because a river was mentioned before the flood doesn't mean it is the same river
in the same place after the flood.
They would have used the same name for a different river.
Many places in the United States are named after places in other parts of the world.
But if there was not a world wide flood you could be right.
But if there was not a world wide flood why study the bible?

Bart. I got my info from Glencoe World History copyright 2005
Page 729 pp3
"The attack of the Lusitania is often credited with drawing the United States into World
War 1. However, President Woodrow Wilson -though he had vowed to hold Germany responsible fot its
submaine attacks-Knew that the American people were not ready to go to war.
It was almost 2 years before the United States jonined the conflict in Europe."
The way I see it.
It always takes some time to prime the pump.
You have to propogandize the people that takes time.
Especially back then when informatin travelled slow.
